EXTENSION DEVELOPMENT
Agricultural extension was once known as the application of scientific research and new knowledge to agricultural practices through farmer education. The field of extension now encompasses a wider range of communication and learning activities organised for rural people by professionals from different disciplines. In ethiopia extension programme mainly focuses on assisting small-scale farmers to improve their productivity through disseminating research-generated information and technologies. It has been widely accepted by a large number of farmers across the country. It is obvious that, as the number of participating farmers in the extension programme increases, the demand for agricultural inputs also increases at a considerable rate.
